SMS Opt-In & Consent

This page documents exactly how a customer consents to receive SMS from Legends Barber Studio on our public booking page at legendsbs.com. It exists so the opt-in experience is publicly verifiable. The screenshot below reproduces the consent checkbox and disclosure language exactly as it appears to a customer inside the booking form.
What is required vs. optional
- SMS consent is never required. A customer can book an appointment and use every service without agreeing to receive any recurring or marketing text message. Consent is never a condition of booking or purchase.
- One-time verification code (2FA, user-initiated). To confirm the customer owns the number they entered, the customer themselves requests a single one-time passcode. This is a transactional identity-verification message — not a recurring or marketing program, and it requires no program opt-in. Returning, already-verified customers skip this step entirely.
- Recurring confirmations & reminders (separate, optional opt-in). A customer receives these only if they actively check the optional box shown below. It is unchecked by default, and leaving it unchecked still completes the booking normally. This consent is separate from, and not bundled with, the Terms of Service or Privacy Policy.
The opt-in as it appears on the booking page
After the customer enters their mobile number, the booking form shows the following — an optional, unchecked-by-default checkbox with its full disclosure directly beneath it:

Optional — not required to book. We verify your number with a one-time code either way. If you opt in, Legends Barber Studio will send appointment confirmations and reminders (about 2–5 messages per month, varies by your visits). Message and data rates may apply. The same checkbox and disclosure are presented in Spanish for Spanish-speaking customers, with identical meaning and the same links to our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms.
Consent records
Legends Barber Studio stores, for each opted-in customer, the timestamp at which they checked the opt-in box. Customers can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, and can request help by replying HELP.
